A handmade wreath makes your front door look warm and festive. A faux wreath lasts for years and you can reuse it every Christmas.
What you need
- Wreath frame or grapevine wreath base See options
- Faux pine or eucalyptus stems See options
- Floral wire See options
- Wired ribbon See options
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks See options
How to make it
- Cut the faux greenery into stems about 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) long.
- Attach the first stem to the frame with floral wire, wrapping it a few times.
- Add the next stem so it overlaps the first and covers the wire. Work around the wreath in one direction.
- Keep turning the wreath and adding stems until it is full. Fluff the stems at the end.
- Make a bow with the ribbon and wire it on, or glue it in place.
- Add pine cones, berries or small ornaments with hot glue or wire.
- Attach a loop of wire or ribbon on the back for hanging.
Tips
Mix two or three kinds of greenery for a more natural look.
Store the wreath in a large bag or box after Christmas so it keeps its shape.
